Korea Institute of Construction Technology held KOICA's invitational training for female construction engineers in Africa

[Human Aid Post] (Construction) Training Institute for Construction Technology (CEO Byung-kuk Jeon) hosted the Korea International Cooperation Agency (Chairman Mi-Kyung Lee) at Incheon Headquarters for 21 days from October 10 to 30, 'The first year invitation training was conducted.

The invitational training was conducted as part of the Korea International Cooperation Agency's grant assistance program, which included 13 female construction engineers in five African countries (Ghana, Gambia, Nigeria, Rwanda and Tanzania).

In particular, during the training period, a meeting was held between women and architects in Africa to find mutual opportunities for mutual cooperation. The meeting was attended by more than 10 female builders representing Korea, including Chairman Lee Hyun-hee (KOWSAE), Honorary Chairman Kim Kyung-sook, and former Chairman Kim Tae-hee, and introduced the key projects and activities of the Korea Development Council. Chairman Lee Hyun-hee said, “I hope that KOICA training will expand the experience and knowledge sharing of both countries in fostering female builders in Korea and Africa, and will allow Korean companies to participate in various construction projects.”

In this course, we introduced Korea's human resource development, science and technology policy, and the system for fostering female scientists and engineers. In addition, I visited the Korea Women's Science and Technician Support Center (WISET) and had an opportunity to hear vivid status and support cases of the policy development program for women science and technology from the director and staff of Ahn Hye-yeon.

Participants shared the current status of participating countries through country-specific presentations on training and statistics on female construction engineers in each country. “This training provided me with experience in fostering women's construction technology and excellent construction technology, and improved the level of construction technology in my country through Korea's development cases,” said a senior engineer at the AMA Antonia Federal Capital Development Agency in Nigeria. I look forward to it.
