The 10-year Automobile Citizens' Movement Association (CEO Lim Ki-sang) signed a business agreement on December 30 with the Korea Automobile Environmental Association (Chairman Ahn Soo-soo). It is going to conduct free eco-friendly inspection from March.

As a result, three types of vehicles (DPF), three types (DOC), and remodeled vehicles, which have passed the warranty period of three years, are provided through specialized maintenance shops designated by the National Citizens' Movement Union, as well as engine-related components such as engine, cooling water and tire pressure. 16 items of free eco-friendly inspection and maintenance labor discounts are available.

Lim Sang-sang, CEO of the Citizens' Movement Association, said, “Vehicles that have passed the current warranty period require continuous management on vehicles with abatement devices. If they are thrown away, they can be turned into polluted cars.” We prepared for this event to be maintained. ”

The Ministry of Environment is promoting the reduction of diesel engines' particulate matter (PM) and the retrofitting of diesel diesel engines. Since 2005, more than 500,000 emission-grade diesel trucks with Class 5 emissions have been equipped with soot abatement systems (DPFs), and Seoul's PM10 concentration has improved from 59 µg / ㎥ in 2004 to 44 µg / ㎥ in 2014.

Fine dust discharged from old diesel vehicles is known as a first-class carcinogen. The government plans to reduce fine dust emissions by 30% by 2022. Class 5 obsolete diesel vehicles ordered by local governments to mandate low-pollution measures are subject to mandatory emissions reduction (DPF) installations due to limited front-end operation.

Attaching the DPF supports a three-year warranty and cleaning fee. Even after the three-year warranty has expired, frequent breakdowns and maintenance are economic burdens for drivers. The Citizens' Union will conduct free inspections in approximately 200 locations nationwide. In order to prevent over-maintenance and dissatisfaction, which are common in old cars, regular precautionary training for 10-year rides is also conducted.

The Korea Automotive Environment Association said that DPF reduces 80% of soot if it is well-maintained and needs regular maintenance in consideration of its characteristics.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment is subsidizing 90% of subsidies to vehicle owners equipped with DPF to reduce fine dust. In addition to overhauling over 200 abatement devices nationwide, the company will also provide on-site publicity on the necessity and function of the DPF to reduce fine dust.
